First Visit

Your first acupuncture appointment will take approximately 90 minutes. We'll discuss your wellness concerns and your patient paperwork. I'll check your tongue and pulse -- a traditional medicine diagnostic test -- which reveals a surprising amount of detail about your current health. I'll then suggest treatment plans, and we'll go to the therapy table for acupuncture and Reiki work.

Wear relaxing clothes (and your nice underwear!), so I can move your clothing around to access various energy points from (literally) head to toe. (Don't worry, I won't be revealing your private parts!) And be sure to eat before you arrive. Acupuncture treatments use your qi (氣: vital energy), so you'll need some good energy from nutritious food to ensure the effectiveness of the treatment.

During most sessions, I play very soft nature sounds and "vibrational" music that contain specific frequencies known to promote healing to the body, mind, and spirit. I usually end treatments with a final application of an essential oil blend that either calms or invigorates, depending on your physical and emotional needs.

Follow-up Visits
Depending on the acupuncture-Reiki treatment plan you've chosen, set aside 60 or 90 minutes for your next appointment. We'll first discuss any changes in your health since your last visit and, before going to the treatment table, I'll check your tongue and pulse for signs of wellness imbalances. If you chose a 60-minute session, only one side of your body (face up or down) will likely be needled/treated. If you chose 90 minutes, you'll be treated on both sides of your body, and I'll incorporate more energy work into your therapy.

Distant Healing  

If you are already one of my patients, we can simply schedule a session.   Then, I will work on you, and give you a small report.  Basically you can do anything you want during the work, but I'd recommend that you stay relaxed during the time. It takes about 30-60 min.

If you are a new patient to my practice, you will work on the paper work I send, and send that back to me.  We can schedule the date/time.   Since this is the first session, we can communicate in an email, face time, talk over a phone to have a small conversation about your issues, and I will work on you, and give you a small report of the session.

Chinese Herbal Medicine Visits
Your first appointment will take approximately 45-60 minutes, and follow-up appointments take about 30 minutes.

Cancellation Policy 

• Sufficient notice: No charge for cancellations or rescheduling  made by phone during our normal business hours at least 48 hours (not including Sundays or holidays) in advance of your scheduled appointment.  If you have sent an email to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please do not consider your appointment changed until I've written back to confirm it. I will email you within 24 hours of your notice
• Between 47 and 24 hours' notice (not including Sundays or holidays): A cancellation fee equal to 50% of the treatment costs will be charged, although exceptions might be made with an immediate rescheduling of the appointment or for understandable emergency situations.
  
• Less than 24 hours' notice: A full fee for the scheduled service will be charged, except in proven emergency situations.
  
• Repeated cancellations: Cancelling and rescheduling of the same appointment three or more times within six months will trigger a charge equal to the full treatment fee.
